A exceptionally honest, beginner-friendly marinade that actually accounts for marinating time.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
- 4 tbsp gochujang
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp rice syrup or corn syrup
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp Asian pear or apple (grated, optional but recommended)
Instructions
- 1
In a bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, gochujang, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, vegetable oil, rice syrup or corn syrup, onion powder, black pepper, and grated Asian pear or apple (if using). Mix well to make the marinade.
5 min - 2
Place the boneless skinless chicken thighs in a large bowl or resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken and toss to coat evenly.
2 min - 3
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for best flavor.
30 min - 4
Cook the chicken on a grill or stovetop over medium-high heat until fully cooked and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per side depending on thickness. If baking in the oven, bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
