1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Zest ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. Zest is operated by the Zest team ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Zest is a recipe management application that extracts recipe information from publicly shared cooking video links on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. The Service uses AI to identify ingredients, instructions, and other recipe details from video content and presents them in an organized format.

Zest is available as a mobile application for iOS and Android, and as a web application at getzest.kitchen.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You can sign up using your Google account, Apple account, or email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

4. User Content

"User Content" means any recipes, collections, grocery lists, notes, images, and other content you create or upload through the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

If you share a recipe publicly, you grant other users the ability to view and save that recipe to their own collection. You may delete your User Content at any time through the Service.

5. Zest+ Subscription

Zest offers a premium subscription called "Zest+" which provides access to additional features. Zest+ is available in monthly, annual, and lifetime tiers. All subscription payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, subject to their respective terms and conditions.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings at any time.
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by Zest and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.

Zest extracts text-based recipe information from publicly shared video links. We do not store, host, or redistribute video content. All video content remains the property of its respective owners and platforms.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
  • Upload or share content that is unlawful, harmful, or objectionable
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Use the Service for any automated or commercial scraping without permission
  • Circumvent usage limits or access controls
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. AI-generated recipe extractions may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for verifying recipe information before use.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zest shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date or through other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
